How did you venture into the online gaming space? Which online games do you play regularly? What gaming platforms do you primarily use? (PC, console, mobile) How many hours do you typically spend gaming each week?
I ventured into online gaming out of sheer curiosity and passion for gaming. It started as a fun activity with friends, playing casual games to unwind. Over time, I became fascinated by the competitive and social aspects of online gaming by watching YouTubers and content creators such as Dynamo Gaming, Casetoo, Mortal, Sc0ut, MRXHindiGaming, and a few more. The growing esports scene and the vibrant communities around games inspired me to participate more actively, including content creation and tournament management. At first, gaming used to be very hard for me as I didn't have my personal mobile phone or PC, but eventually in 2019, I purchased a gaming laptop which later proved to be the starting of my journey as a content creator and tournament manager and organizer. I regularly play BGMI, which has a fantastic competitive scene. Occasionally, I enjoy trying out new releases or exploring story-driven games. I primarily use mobile for games like BGMI but also game on PC for certain games. On average, I spend around 25-30 hours gaming each week. This includes playing for fun, honing my skills, and engaging with the gaming community. It’s a balance between enjoying the hobby and managing other aspects of life.
For how many years have you been playing online games?
About 5 years now.
What are your educational qualifications?
I have completed my graduation (B.tech Computer Science & Engineering) from Vellore Institute of Technology (VIT Bhopal)

Playing online games requires a mix of strategic and personal skills such as strategic thinking, focus, concentration, teamwork, patience, and persistence.
Does playing online game form part of your daily life? is it a part of your livelihood?
Yes, playing online games is a significant part of my daily life, but it’s more of a passion than a career. Gaming allows me to unwind, connect with friends, and engage with the broader gaming community. While I haven’t taken gaming as a career, it plays an important role in my personal growth and creative expression. I enjoy participating in and organizing tournaments, creating content for my channels, and exploring the potential of gaming as a way to connect with like-minded people. For me, gaming is about having fun, and building a sense of community, while balancing it with other aspects of my life.
What are your preferred kind of online games? What factors do you consider before putting money into any online game?
I prefer online games that combine strategy, teamwork, and competitive play, such as battle royale games, MOBAs, and esports-focused titles. Games that offer immersive storytelling and First Person Shooter (FPS) Games also grab my attention, as they provide a fresh and engaging experience. Before putting money into any online game, I usually consider several factors such as gameplay quality, longevity and value for the money that I get.
What skills are required to succeed in an online gaming tournament?
Succeeding in an online gaming tournament requires a combination of technical, strategic, and personal skills. While raw talent is important, true success comes from the discipline, consistency, dedication, and seriousness of the esports team participating in the tournament.
Have you ever experienced financial fraud or scams related to online gaming? What measures do you think should be implemented to prevent financial exploitation in online gaming?
Unfortunately, I have faced fraud and scams in online gaming, and also in management of the same. For instance, under Aim Esports, there has been fraud by a sponsor who was supposed to sponsor a BGMI tournament in exchange for making the participants compulsory to subscribe to their socials, but the sponsor backed down from the commitment at the time of the finals of the tournament. After this incident, when Aim Esports was at its peak, one of our admin's discord ID was hacked which led to more than 9k members being kicked from our discord server. After this incident, there has been many attempt to hack our socials as well as gaming ids, but we have been fortunate enough to not fall into these traps. There was one more scam that happened last year around July when our money was scammed while buying new gaming IDs for our content creation by sellers. Such incidents highlight the need for stricter measure to prevent financial exploitation by taking appropriate measures such as escrow systems, binding agreements, verification of sponsors, stricter security systems and transparency in deals.
Community Engagement: Do you actively participate in gaming communities or forums? How important do you think community engagement is for the online gaming community?
I participate in gaming communities and forums because I believe that engaging with the community allows me to connect with like-minded people, share ideas, and learn from others' perspectives. It’s also a great way to stay updated on industry trends, and upcoming games. Community engagement is important for the online gaming world. It ensures a sense of belonging, encourages collaboration, and helps build lasting friendships. For creators like me, it’s an opportunity to interact with fans, understand their preferences, and create content that resonates with them. This also helps us as a creator, to know our followers better by trying diverse content.
What do you think about addiction and dependency on online gaming?
I think addiction of online gaming is a real challenge, particularly when gaming becomes a means of escape rather than a healthy pastime. While gaming has many positives such as improving cognitive skills, and even creating career opportunities, it’s important to maintain a balance. For some, excessive gaming can affect mental health, disrupt daily routines, or strain the real-life relationships with friends and family. Developers, parents, and players all have roles to play in addressing this serious issue. Developers can include features like playtime reminders and parental controls. Gamers should practice self-regulation, and families should encourage open conversations about screen time and offline activities.
Are you aware of the existing laws and regulations related to online gaming in your country? Do you think there should be more regulations to protect gamers' rights and safety online?
Yes, I’m aware of some of the existing laws and regulations related to online gaming in India, particularly the laws related to age restrictions, online gambling, and content regulation. I believe there should be a few more regulations to protect gamers’ rights and safety online such as policies to combat cyberbullying, safeguard personal data, and ensuring fair play would be crucial. It’s also important to establish clear guidelines for in-game transactions and also there is a need to address issues like gaming addiction. At the same time, these regulations should strike a balance—they should protect gamers without hindering the industry’s growth.
If there is one thing about the online gaming industry you can convey to the government, what would it be?
If I could convey something to the government about the online gaming industry, it would be the importance of recognizing gaming as a career option and source of entertainment, which can even be televised. This includes supporting the gaming industry through policies that encourage talented gamers to be recognized by providing grants or incentives for esports players and content creators and investing in better infrastructure such as high-speed internet and gaming centers. With the right support, gaming can drive innovation, build communities, and position India as a key player in the global esports and content creation landscape.
Are there any tournaments you have won or gaming achievements you would like to share with us?
While I haven't pursued gaming as a career, I’ve had some memorable moments in the gaming community that I’m proud of. I can proudly say, I am the founder and the owner of Aim Esports, which is one of the pioneers of PUBG/BGMI Esports. It was one of the fastest-growing esports discord servers during 2020-2021, gaining more than 19000 members in just 3-4 months. As an esports tournament organizer and manager, I have successfully hosted various esports events and tournaments both under Aim Esports and AstroN Gaming, and have provided the underdog players an environment to excel in the gaming community by proving their game against some of the best teams of our country. We organized events to bring talented players and foster competitive spirit in the gaming community. Creating these platforms and witnessing players shine has been just as rewarding as any personal gaming achievement. For me, the real achievement lies in the connections I’ve made, the experiences I’ve gained, and the opportunities to contribute to the growth of the gaming community.
