How did you venture into the online gaming space? Which online games do you play regularly? What gaming platforms do you primarily use? (PC, console, mobile) How many hours do you typically spend gaming each week?
I started playing games for fun. I use to play pubg but then a special someone introduced me to competitive world but I was not able to perform that well. Then I came across the concept of live streaming on yt for content. I tried doing that but mere gameplay was not giving me positive results that’s when I tried casting coz yeah I wanted to cast that particular person while playing tournament which I did and slowly people started loving my English castings. That’s when I bought a gaming laptop for the sake of increasing my streaming and casting horizon as obs has more features than mobile streaming. But problems came up when there was constant ban on pubg. That’s when I tried Valorant and I am still hooked to it. I hate this game but I love this game. This game has given me almost everything. I don’t have real life friends as such. All my friends are my co casters or co gamers. And I spend any free time I get on gaming. It’s like I would rather stay in game than going out on holidays.
For how many years have you been playing online games?
4 years now
What are your educational qualifications?
I am pursuing my Masters in politics
What skills do you think are required to play online games?
Consistency and Mental strength.
Does playing online game form part of your daily life? is it a part of your livelihood?
Yes to an extend. As I said I love staying indoors and this is just the perfect job for me. Stay in cast or stream games I love the most and if I don’t play or stream a day I feel something is actually missing.
What are your preferred kind of online games? What factors do you consider before putting money into any online game?
I started off with mobile games but now I prefer pc games as my device do not support mobile games anymore. I do have an iPhone but it’s battery health is so bad that I can’t play more than 2 games so I prefer pc games now. Wmmm about putting money😂 I don’t consider any factor if I love it I buy it and then I regret it. Sometimes I plan to buy a new skin for so long that after sometime that skin will be gone from trend it’s like I wanna buy it but I won’t coz I am broke I regret so I spend twice next haha
What skills are required to succeed in an online gaming tournament?
Knowing the game mechanism is what I feel is needed the most. Every game is different. Every game has its own unique mechanism. One can’t play Valorant the way they play bgmi and vice versa. Also mental health!! Every loss makes you feel so so so drained especially if you are a competitive gamer. I am merely a creator but I often find myself playing competitively and when I face a lose I feel my whole worlds gonna break! Which is not seen in good esports player. Few days back I rewatched the historical Valorant match between Loud and Fanatic and fanatic was losing but they didn’t give up they kept their calm and in the end they actually won. So I guess knowing game mechanics and keeping calm or mental strength is what needed the most in an online gaming tournament.
Have you ever experienced financial fraud or scams related to online gaming? What measures do you think should be implemented to prevent financial exploitation in online gaming?
I casted for an org for like 8 hours a day for 1 month but didn’t get a single penny🤓 and there’s other related to accounts and all. Hmm I feel to prevent financial exploitation people should engage with someone whom they know personally. Deals over online services is not always secure so if the deals are over huge sum of money it should be done with someone whom you know personally. For online services such as casting or managing atleast 50-60% payout should be given as advance even if it’s a renowned org.
Community Engagement: Do you actively participate in gaming communities or forums? How important do you think community engagement is for the online gaming community?
Oh I do. Community engagement helps you stay up to date and it could land you amazing opportunities. It’s your choice tho to ply on your own but if you wanna be a creator or known person in gaming community you should regularly engage with others in the community.
What do you think about addiction and dependency on online gaming?
Addiction and dependency on anything is not good. Online gaming unfortunately I am also a victim of it but sometimes we just can’t help. Gaming for most of us is like an escape from reality. But we should touch some grass time to time as people say these days. No matter how great you are in game if you are not physically fit or grounded to reality it’s not gonna land you nowhere. I believe one must not have an online gaming addiction to an extend you forget you have a life outside games and people you are playing with or against are also human beings
Are you aware of the existing laws and regulations related to online gaming in your country? Do you think there should be more regulations to protect gamers' rights and safety online?
I am not so aware about it. I do believe there should be regulations specially related to age restrictions and as I mentioned earlier finance related. Fraudulent practices over games are still not given much importance by law of the country which gives us the only way is to avoid it completely I think this should not be the case one should be able to enjoy gaming process fearlessly and outmost enjoyment. Afterall most of us play games to take a break from harsh reality
If there is one thing about the online gaming industry you can convey to the government, what would it be?
The potential is huge. It’s like what we are always taught do what you love and you can excel greatly . Most of us love gaming and esports is growing in such a way if government could treat esports more like sports we could have great esports player plus may be more rules and regulations regarding age and also more help for financial fraudulence so atleast scammers fear before scamming people
Are there any tournaments you have won or gaming achievements you would like to share with us ?
I use to play bgmi girls tournament so use to win small scrims or be top FRAGGER at times. Never had any big achievement although I believe biggest Achievement I can say is my YouTube fam of 7k.
