How did you venture into the online gaming space? Which online games do you play regularly? What gaming platforms do you primarily use? (PC, console, mobile) How many hours do you typically spend gaming each week?
My journey began in local gaming cafes, where I discovered Dota 2. It started as a hobby but quickly grew into a passion as I began participating in local tournaments and honing my skills. Over time, this passion evolved into a professional career, representing teams and engaging with the gaming community through streaming and events. Dota 2 is my main game, and I dedicate most of my time to it. It’s not just a game for me—it’s my profession, and I also create content and host events centered around it. I primarily use a PC for gaming. It’s the platform that offers the best experience for Dota 2 and other competitive esports titles. On average, I spend around 30–40 hours a week gaming. This includes playing, streaming, practicing, and participating in events. The hours can increase during tournaments or special events.

I have been playing online games for over a decade. This journey started with casual gaming and evolved into professional esports.
What are your educational qualifications?
I hold a Bachelor's degree in Commerce.
What skills do you think are required to play online games?
Success in a tournament demands: Preparation: Thorough practice and understanding of the game’s mechanics. Team bonding: Strong synergy and communication with teammates. Mental toughness: Staying calm under pressure during high-stakes matches. Adaptability: Adjusting strategies based on opponents’ gameplay. Game knowledge: Deep understanding of the meta and mechanics to make informed decisions.
Does playing online game form part of your daily life? is it a part of your livelihood?
Yes, playing online games is an integral part of my daily life and a significant part of my livelihood. Gaming goes beyond just playing—it includes streaming, organizing events like Sub Wars, coaching players, and engaging with the gaming community. It’s my passion and profession, and it allows me to inspire others in the gaming space while sustaining my career. Besides this I am also into Stock Trading.
What are your preferred kind of online games? What factors do you consider before putting money into any online game?
I prefer Multiplayer Online Battle Arena (MOBA) games, with Dota 2 being my absolute favorite. Before putting money I consider these factors - Community and Player Base, Competitive Scene, Updates and Developer Support and Value for Money.
What skills are required to succeed in an online gaming tournament?
Game Knowledge:Deep understanding of game mechanics, meta strategies, and hero or character capabilities. Teamwork and Communication:Effective coordination and clear communication with teammates are essential in team-based tournaments. Adaptability:The ability to adjust strategies mid-game based on opponents’ moves and in-game situations. Mental Toughness:Staying calm under pressure and maintaining focus during high-stakes matches. Consistency:Performing reliably across multiple games in a tournament setting. Time Management:Balancing practice, rest, and preparation to ensure peak performance during matches. Quick Decision-Making:Making accurate and timely decisions in fast-paced scenarios. Preparation:Thoroughly studying opponents, practicing strategies, and refining execution before the tournament.
Have you ever experienced financial fraud or scams related to online gaming? What measures do you think should be implemented to prevent financial exploitation in online gaming?
I have not personally experienced financial fraud or scams in online gaming. However, I’m aware of such issues in the gaming community, such as phishing scams, account theft, or fraudulent transactions, and I take precautions to avoid them. To protect players and prevent financial exploitation in online gaming, the following measures should be implemented: Stronger Account Security: Enforce two-factor authentication (2FA) for all gaming accounts. Educate players about common scams, phishing attempts, and safe online practices Actively monitor trading platforms and marketplaces to identify fraudulent accounts or activities.
Community Engagement: Do you actively participate in gaming communities or forums? How important do you think community engagement is for the online gaming community?
Yes, I actively participate in gaming communities, particularly those related to Dota 2. This includes hosting events like Sub Wars, engaging with my audience during streams, and maintaining a vibrant Discord server where players can connect, learn, and share experiences. I also interact with viewers on platforms like YouTube and keep discussions alive about strategies, updates, and the overall gaming experience. Community engagement is crucial for several reasons - Building Connections, Knowledge Sharing, Growth of the Ecosystem, Event Participation, Positive Environment. For a professional like me, being involved in the community isn’t just a responsibility; it’s a way to give back, inspire, and grow alongside others who share the same passion for gaming.
What do you think about addiction and dependency on online gaming?
Online gaming, like any activity, has the potential to become addictive if not approached with balance and moderation. While gaming offers many benefits—entertainment, skill development, and even career opportunities—it’s important to recognize and address the risks of dependency. While gaming addiction is a concern, it can be mitigated with awareness, self-regulation, and community support. For those of us in the gaming industry, it’s important to promote responsible gaming habits and encourage a balanced approach, ensuring that gaming remains a positive and enriching experience.
Are you aware of the existing laws and regulations related to online gaming in your country? Do you think there should be more regulations to protect gamers' rights and safety online?
Yes, I am aware of the existing laws and regulations related to online gaming in India. Currently, the regulatory framework for online gaming in India is somewhat fragmented, with different states having their own rules regarding gambling, online games, and esports. For instance, some states have strict regulations around online gambling, while others allow certain forms of gaming. There are also efforts to classify esports as a legitimate sport, which would provide clarity around licensing, revenue generation, and player protection. Absolutely. As the online gaming industry continues to grow, there are several areas where more regulations could improve the safety and rights of gamers.
If there is one thing about the online gaming industry you can convey to the government, what would it be?
Recognize online gaming and esports as a legitimate sector that contributes to both the economy and social well-being, and create a clear, unified regulatory framework that fosters growth while protecting players' rights.
